Hundreds of birds were slaughtered and their eggs and nests were destroyed in a terrible incident in Kerala’s Malappuram district after a group of men chopped a tree to widen the National Highway. Parveen Kaswan, an Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer, shared the horrific video.

The video begins with a JCB machine chopping down a massive tree. Hundreds of birds are seen flying out of the tree as they become homeless in the footage. The video also shows birds dying after falling under the massive tree, either due to their inability to fly or the impact of the fall. The heartbreaking sight of hundreds dead birds is enough to upset you to your heart.

Kaswan shared the post and wrote, “Everybody need a house. How cruel we can become “.

According to reports, the Kerala Forest Department has filed a case under the Wildlife Protection Act in response to the incident. The tree was felled without permission from the authorities. Later, the operator of the JCB driver was arrested. Forest Minister AK Saseendran denounced the incident, calling it illegal.
