You might be knowing about the cartoon duo SpongeBob Squarepants and his friend Patrick. They were apparently found on a seafloor expedition by the NOAA.
SpongeBob SquarePants Caught With His Best Friend
SpongeBob SquarePants was caught on camera alongside his best friend, Patrick. Christopher Mah was baffled to see this and tweeted the image of the aquatic pair. Mah posted the images on Tuesday and has received thousands of likes.
Christopher added the scientific names of the sponge as Hertwigia and the starfish as Chondraster.
The image of SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick chilling under the ocean was seen in a live stream by the NOAA. The NOAA stands for National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. They were going for a deepwater expedition to look at some of the aquatic flora and fauna when they saw this. The cartoon duo was spotted 1,885m underwater near the Retriever Seamount. The Retriever Seamount is one of the undersea mountains that makes up the Seamounts Marine National Monument and the Northeast Canyons in the Atlantic Ocean.

SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick are popular best friends that appear on a Nickelodeon show, that has the same title. They are shown to live in Bikini Bottoms where SpongeBob lives in a pineapple house while Patrick Star lives under a rock. The show revolves around SpongeBob SquarePants who works at a restaurant known as the Krusty Krab. We can also see popular characters like Squidward and Sandy ButtCheeks on the same show. The show is quite humorous and appeals to young kids.
When we take a look at the real-life, this is quite the opposite. Chondraster stars are the nemesis of sea sponges and are carnivorous. They consume the sea sponge to gain nutrition. Let us hope that this star chooses to go for a Krabby Patty instead of eating up his friend, SpongeBob SquarePants.
